Dental Inlays and Onlays Performed by Our Fort Worth TX Dentist Restore Your Teeth

At Hulen Dentistry & Implants, our Fort Worth dentist offers dental inlays and onlays as a conservative and effective solution for restoring damaged teeth. Inlays and onlays are ideal for patients who have mild to moderate tooth decay or cracks in their rear teeth that do not require a full crown. These restorations from our practice are crafted from high-quality materials like porcelain, composite resin, or even gold to ensure both strength and a natural appearance.

Inlays are used when the damage is limited to the center of the tooth, while onlays are used when the damage extends to one or more of the tooth's cusps. Both options allow us to restore your tooth without the need for extensive reshaping, making them an excellent choice for patients who want to preserve as much of their natural tooth structure as possible.

Benefits of Inlays and Onlays

There are several advantages to choosing inlays and onlays over traditional fillings or crowns.

• Natural Look: Inlays and onlays are designed to match the natural color of your teeth, making them nearly invisible compared to metal fillings. Our Fort Worth dentist will ensure that your inlay or onlay blends seamlessly with your smile.

• Great Fit: Unlike metal fillings, inlays and onlays do not expand or contract with temperature changes. This stability helps to maintain a perfect fit over time, reducing the risk of future dental issues.

• Longevity: Inlays and onlays are incredibly durable and can last up to 30 years, far longer than traditional fillings. This long-lasting solution is perfect for patients who want a strong and reliable restoration.

• Minimal Tooth Structure Removal: One of the key benefits of inlays and onlays is that they require minimal removal of the healthy tooth. This allows us to preserve as much of your natural tooth as possible while effectively treating decayed or damaged areas.

The Procedure

The placement of inlays and onlays usually requires two visits to our office. During your first visit, Dr. AL Kaissy will carefully clean and prepare the affected tooth. An impression of your tooth will then be taken and sent to a specialized dental lab where your custom inlay or onlay will be created. To protect your tooth in the meantime, we will place a temporary restoration.

At your second appointment, our Fort Worth dentist will remove the temporary material and check the fit of your new inlay or onlay. Once it is confirmed to fit perfectly and match the surrounding teeth, it will be bonded securely to your tooth, restoring both function and appearance.
